I pass through SJC (San Jose airport) pretty frequently, and I was at SAN (San Diego airport) recently, and found a stark difference between their "main piece of lobby art".
In San Jose, we find an abstract rendition of a flying machine ("Space Observer" by Bjoern Schuelke)

In San Diego: the actual Spirit of St Louis
It doesn't get more stark than that!
Also, you learn something new each day: I knew of the plane, and of the first non-stop flight across the Atlantic -- nearly a century ago now -- but I didn't know the plane was manufactured in San Diego (and apparently there was a large mural to Charles Lindbergh too, but -- as things go these days -- it was torn down)
