Fraudsters Inc

Watching "Inventing Anna" some time after watching "The Dropout" left a sort of bad taste.

It feels like a symptom of something sick that such obvious fraud is treated sympathetically.

I don't know, I just found both these characters pathetic.

It seems a strange, maybe sad, maybe sick, reflection of something, that ... this happened at all, but also that ... the protagonists are treated as victims somehow.

To paraphrase something the writer, Vivian, remembers and says while delivering her baby, neither Anna Sorokin nor Elizabeth Holmes are special. They are garden-variety sociopaths.
