I recently came across a song that clearly is the original
It was interesting to listen to it, and contrast the lyrics, and see what was kept and what was removed.
P.S. In my memory, this is “the last song”, because (having heard it first on a record through my parents, and then a cassette on my own) it was the last song on “side A” of their “greatest hits” album
